Laura is a visual anthropologist and documentary filmmaker based in Los Angeles, California. In 2023, she graduated with a Master of Arts in Visual Anthropology from the University of Southern California, where she produced, directed, shot, and edited her 29-minute thesis film, Bonnie Brae & 6th, Los Angeles. Since obtaining her master's, she has worked on numerous documentary, narrative, and commercial projects in the Los Angeles region as a 2nd AC, camera operator, and 1st AD.
Prior to moving to Los Angeles in 2021, she worked in the non-profit industry for 6 years with underserved indigenous and immigrant communities in the highlands of Guatemala and the Washington, D.C. metropolitan region. She is fluent in Spanish and has a B.S. in Anthropology and Religious Studies from Virginia Commonwealth University.
